The Erasmus Destination of the Year
Turin is a city where historic elegance meets contemporary innovation. Once Italy’s first capital, it preserves a distinguished baroque and royal heritage set against the breathtaking Alps. Today, Turin thrives as a hub of industry, research, and creativity, fostering a dynamic international environment. Its vibrant academic community, world-class museums, serene green spaces, and culinary tradition famous for chocolate.
Our theme
The whole programme of EGM Split 2026 surrounds the main theme and two pillars:
- Development of Competences through Volunteering and Student-led Mobility: student engagement, including participation in volunteering and student mobility, contributes to the development of competences, empowering youth to grow personally and professionally. It also highlights the importance of ensuring quality and inclusive mobility opportunities, while recognising the diverse mobility formats and programmes through which students and youth can gain valuable skills and competencies.
- Impact and Recognition of Student Engagement: recognising and validating the skills gained through student mobility and volunteering is crucial for ensuring their professional and academic value is acknowledged by institutions, employers, and society. This reinforces the importance of formal, non-formal, and informal learning in shaping the competences of the Erasmus Generation.
