Explore the city of Seville, Spain

Image of Seville

Welcome to Seville, a captivating destination that seamlessly blends history, culture, and vibrant energy in the heart of Andalusia, the South of Spain. This charming city, bathed in the warm Mediterranean sun, stands as a treasure trove of unique experiences for those who explore its streets.

Seville breathes history in every corner, with monuments that narrate centuries of cultural influences. The imposing Cathedral, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, invites you to marvel at its Gothic grandeur and ascend the Giralda for panoramic views. Just steps away, the Royal Alcazar unfolds its lush gardens, inviting you to immerse yourself in a world of architectural elegance. Plaza de España, with its semi-circular architecture and tiles representing the provinces of Spain, it is a visual spectacle. Meanwhile, the Santa Cruz Quarter plunges you into the most picturesque side of Seville, with its narrow alleys and flower-filled courtyards.

The flamenco essence of the city unfolds in the Triana Quarter, home to flamenco tablaos and ceramic workshops. Attending a flamenco show is a window into the passion and artistic expression that define this city.

Torre del Oro, on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, adds a touch of mystery with its history as a defensive tower and treasury from the Almohad era. Not to forget Seville's gastronomy, where tapas bars invite you to savour the diversity of traditional dishes at every turn. Immerse yourself in Seville's cultural richness, where the past and present intertwine in a charming dance.

In recent years, Seville has positioned itself as a city of events, hosting multiple conferences and special moments, such as EAIE, the Goya Awards, the Latin Grammy Awards, the UEL Final, and now the Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM)!

Take advantage of EGM happening in Seville and explore the treasures of a city that captivates with its authenticity, art, and hospitality.

Welcome to Seville, where every step tells a story.

EGM Expo

The EGM Expo is an opportunity for organisations of the Erasmus Student Network to promote mobility programmes and opportunities existing at the Higher Education Institutions in their countries. The Mobility Fair also offers space to young people to learn more about mobility programmes and opportunities in Europe and find their next mobility destination.

Flag Parade

The Flag Parade is one of the highlights of the Erasmus Generation Meeting Seville 2024, symbolising the unity and diversity of the Erasmus Generation. The participants proudly carry flags representing their countries. As the parade makes its way next to the Gualdalquivir, the colours of the Erasmus Generation flutters in the breeze and creates a spectacle of multiculturalism and togetherness.

Our theme

The Erasmus Student Network’s third edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting, the largest student-led conference in the field of student mobility in the world, will tackle the theme of “Removing barriers for active and equal participation”. The event will take place in Spain in the beautiful city of Seville, world-renowned for its beautiful architecture and rich culture, from the 4th until the 7th of April 2024, and will gather more than 1000 people from all over Europe and beyond. The second edition took place in Romania, and it celebrated the European Year of Skills and pushed for active participation in the upcoming European Parliament elections. It was a space where Erasmus alumni, students and stakeholders working in the fields of internationalisation of Higher Education and youth participation were brought together to improve the civic engagement of young people and work toward the recognition of skills gained through international opportunities.

To support the theme of Removing barriers for active and equal participation the 2024 edition will have two main pillars, Inclusive international opportunities for all students and young people, and Participation in democratic life in light of the European Parliament elections 2024. Both topics will build on last year and are at the core of improving the international experiences of young people from all over the world and the development of Europe. EGM will be the space where the future leaders of the world, the students, gather to exchange ideas, lift one another up, and work together with those working to remove the barriers that stop young people from actively and equally participating on how we can improve engagement with the governing forces of the world and push for inclusivity for international opportunities.

Through the countless interactions and sessions, the event will focus on equal opportunitiesthe fight against discrimination, and active citizenship. Through these discussions, participants will look for solutions, share best practices and advocate for people with disabilities, those with fewer opportunities, the LGBTQI+ community, people suffering from racism, those from rural areas and the many other minority groups who have barriers to overcome.
